New Meat Alert

| | Comments (1)

Hey Everybody,

Rick's Meats of El Cerrito has a new sausage. Rick says it's a friends grandfather recipe and called a German Linguica. Originally he smoked them, but this time they are uncooked. New Meat is always worth a try.

But after closer inspection (cooking with scrambled eggs), they fall short. Neither my wife or I were impressed. It's unfortunate because I really wanted these to be a home run.

I enjoyed the chunky chewy texture, but M felt it still had the feel of mealy hamburger or so. The flavor was a cross between garlic powder and worchestershire sauce with a dash of cayenne. I have to say though they smelled GREAT in the fry pan. Sorry Rick, hugs.

The linguica tastes better this time, but it still has a weird texture. In the mouth, it feels like hamburger more than a sausage. What's up with that? When I put a big ol' sausage in my mouth, I want it to feel like a goddamn sausage.
