Mr. Pumpkin has a surprised look on his face. Maybe he was spooked by something or someone in costume!

Or, maybe something only HE could see!

Naw, I didn't. What I do is toss them in to the garden. This way, each year they magically reappear and I don't have to pay for pumpkins!
