What is The Purpose of This Blog?
I'm using this blog to record the day-to-day adventures of homeschooling my two beloved hell-raisers and to share these experiences with my family, friends, and other folks whom are just plain curious. In other words, this is an open diary, with no comments section, about our homeschool odyssey.
...so, if you have some super, fantastic idea about homeschooling that you'd like to share with me, or have a question, or just want to commiserate, feel free to send me an email. I'm "mama" at this domain.
Who, What, and Where is Wildwood Academy?
"Wildwood Academy" is the chosen name of our home education project and is overseen primarily by me. Of course, other people, mostly family members, make Wildwood possible and contribute heavily to the day-to-day operation. We do most of the usual paperwork: math, reading, writing, crafts, etc. at the dining room table at home, but we also have the ability to conduct "school" wherever and whenever we want it to be on any given day.
Wildwood Academy is not affiliated with the charter school in which we have enrolled.
Why are You Homeschooling?
We've chosen home-education because our public schools are in serious trouble - trouble that can't be fixed by throwing more more tax dollars into the pot, troubles that I just don't want to talk about here. I am, however, more than happy to rant and rave in more detail over a spirited drink... or two.
